Frequently Asked Questions

What does S&C stand for?

S&C stands for Stanley and Christine Coleman, who are the culinary meisters behind the company’s outstanding food products.

Do you grow your own cucumbers?

Not at this point. We’d need acres and acres to grow in the kind of quantity that would make production possible. We currently buy from suppliers that are Pennsylvania-based, and in the off-season from growers in Florida, South Carolina etc. We are always trying to find new growers though, so please let us know if you know of or could supply cucumbers.

Are your products organic?

No, they are not certified organic, but they’re as close as you get without growing the cucumbers in your own backyard.

Are your products gluten-free? YES, YES, YES. Our pickles use distilled vinegar, which has been approved by the American Dietetic Association as being gluten free. For more information on this, you can visit the following sites

What is different about S&C Pickles?

-Our pickles taste better than other pickles out there. Fortunately, that’s not opinion. Its fact!

-Our pickles are better for you than other pickles. Why? Because they are all-natural. We don’t add any chemicals (like calcium chloride, food coloring) or preservatives (like sodium benzoate) which other pickle makers put in their products. That means eating our pickles will make you live longer.

-Our pickles are made close to where you live – we’re a local, Philadelphia based food company.
